Women Steal Spoons; Apparently Love To Accessorize

Stafford Theater security video of probable thief
BRANSON, MO. -- Police in Branson are trying to find two women who stole about 175 souvenir spoons from The Jim Stafford Theater. The theft apparently occurred early Monday evening at the theater between shows while the women disappeared to take a "powder break."

Public Information Officer Karl Kent said that the surveillance video showed a woman sitting at one of the dinner theater’s tables, placing spoons on her face, and laughing with a companion. "Then, in what was tracked as 1.57 seconds, she was seen sticking several fistfuls of the spoons in her purse," said Kent. "I've seen women move fast, but these women... wow."

The women drove off in a minivan that reportedly had a "We love spooning!" bumper sticker on the back window. Theater owner and show star Stafford was quite upset about the incident. “I don't like thieves and takers, and that ain't what it takes to love me, like I want to be loved by you fans.”

The 175 spoons have a value of approximately $1,300 on eBay and Craigslist. If you are a part of a spoons card group and you see one of these spoons, you are requested to contact PIO Kent with Branson Police.
